CFANS offers web hosting for College-related web sites. Eligible sites include departments, research labs, course websites, and CFANS-related projects.Most sites are hosted on Windows servers, but Linux servers are available for those needing PHP or MySQL. We also offer sites that use our content management system (UM Content), which allows you to update your web site using just your web browser.If you would like to request hosting, please send an e-mail to cfans.help@umn.edu with the following information:- The department the site will be affiliated with
- Names and internet ID (x.500) info for anyone who will need to be able to update the site
- Your preferred URL (URLs generally take the form of http://yourdepartment.cfans.umn.edu/yourlabname/. If you need a non-CFANS URL, please submit a request to Marty Moen at mmoen@umn.edu.)
- Any special needs you will have (database, password-protected directories, Content Management System, design help, surveys)
- Your timeframe for when you need the site online
