Record your classes with Camtasia Relay, a software-based class capture solution that can
be used anytime, anywhere, with just a
computer and a microphone. Camtasia Relay allows you to record your voice or other sounds with a microphone and capture video from your computer screen, then process the presentation and
post it to MediaMill or to iTunes U for students to access. Go to the University's Class Capture website to sign up for an account. The site also has information about how to capture your classes, how to post the files, and how to get technical assistance.
CFANS OIT has several inexpensive microphones of
various types that faculty and staff can borrow to try out. The "best" style of microphone very much depends on how you will be using it, how the room is configured, what sounds you are trying to pick up, and so on.
For microphone recommendations or to try out a microphone with Camtasia Relay, please send an e-mail to
cfans.help@umn.edu, and our academic technologist will provide insights into what
would work best for your classroom.
